Maybe you can find a way to prevent thieves from stealing a/c units for copper. http://cnn.com/video/?/video/us/2011/08/05/am.lavandera.heat.deaths.cnn
I wish I could but copper is used because it has a relatively high thermal conductivity of 401 w/(m*k). The only other elements close to that are
317 W/mK Gold and 429 W/mK Silver
which are both worth far more than copper
I guess in theory if one wanted to you could create graphene tubes for the condensor coil and use a plastic similar to pex but soon graphene will be worth more than gold/silver/and copper once someone figure out how to make it easily.
It truly in my opinion one of the keys to better batteries in our cellphones, Stronger prosthetic body parts, and in our case better A/C.... all these possible uses will make it super expensive. Basically the country that can produce the most graphene will control the global economy.
oh graphene is about 10 times better than copper.
