OMGness Teej, thank you so much. I have been so emotional since Friday, I don't know what is wrong with me. LOL. You got me crying all over again. I told Kiki on the way there that I didn't think anyone had gotten the invitation to you and I was so mad about it. Yesterday, I mentioned your name again and she told me that you were at the wedding. I hate I didn't see you. I missed everybody (and of course I missed most of the wedding :( But I did hear that Shea and the BGVs were excellent. I was glad about that. He's one of my favorite people. Such a humble guy. Funny story. I gave him the wrong check. The one I gave him was for someone else and it was for $60. LOL. I didn't realize it until about 1:00a. I called him to tell him and (of course), he already knew. He didn't even call me or anything to mention it. He was just gonna wait until I called him. That said a lot to me bc a lot of artists get so nasty about their money. He was calm, patient and so understanding. He's the best.

And lastly, Teej, please don't ever take off again. I can't think of any other way to say it than this: I hate "the other guy's" playing. Hate it. Love his spirit, HATE his playing. And please ask me who played the drums. *sigh* Just please don't leave us like that again. :'(

@Nessa, I'd be honored to do your wedding sis! ;)

I'd like to hear a clip or two (or three) of homeboy's playing. *slowly nodding head*

I remember some clips floating around... can't remember where... might've been myspace... I'm sure he's made a lot of progress even since then, though.  It may be time for a new clip...

I just want to clarify because I don't know enough about the technical side to know what's good and what's not. Typically, my gauge is in whether or not I notice the music. If I don't notice it at all, its fine. If I notice it, it's either horrible or excellent.

With the guy I'm referring to, he is very skilled. TJ can attest to that. He can play the heck out of anything and you actually NOTICE his playing. The problem is, he has no flow skills. He uses strings for preaching chords and my church is Apostolic. C'mon. He uses some weird flute-sounding thing during prayer. Again, we're Apostolic. That stuff doesn't work for us. He doesn't go with the preacher when s/he's tuning up. That kinda stuff...

TJ has really learned my church and my pastor, and he flows so well. His flow is second to none. Seriously.

I miss living in Philly, cause in Jersey, they pump your gas for you. LOL...

Yeah, I remember that when we went to NJ when I was a kid. My grandma came and visited us in Utah and didn't even know how to pump her own gas, lol.

I just read an article that said it is illegal for people in NJ or Oregon to pump their own gas!!! Are you serious?

http://www.autoblog.com/

Wow ... in the article they even talk about the times people attempted to get self-service gas stations put in and the public voted no... I don't know I mean it may be nice to have someone pump your gas but ... why not just do it yourself?

Yes, that's true. It's been true for many years.

When I worked in NJ (left in 2001), that was a state law. In NY, you can pump your own gas, but all the gas stations back then had a self-serve and attendant-serve option. You could pull into an attendant pump and they did it for you, or you could pull into the self-serve and pump it yourself.

Down here, you have no choice. You just pump. LOL

But yeah, those two states have been the only two states for a long time that don't allow you to pump your own gas. I love it.

If NJ residents voted for self-service stations gas attendants everywhere would be out of a job.  Also pumping your own gas is a drag.  Lol.

Dang, I hate that. I was worried about the drumming situation because I got a text from Allison at like 3:30 saying she wouldn't be able to make it, so I forwarded it to Elder Warren and Elder Brandon. I didn't get a response, though, so I wasn't sure they got it and I was in the middle of playing for a service, so I couldn't step out and call. I really hate for that kind of inconsistency to be a constant plague for the church. We'll never develop a "sound" if we have a different pair of musicians every week.

Umm, yeah...MUCH progress. Those clips were horrible. I was just trying to impress the girls on my Myspace list by playing "No One" by Alicia Keys.  :D

Before I started driving, the service stations in Utah had a full serve aisle.  I think we were down to only one left when I was a teenager, and it crossed over before I started driving.

Especially when it's cold.  I purposely drive around on, "Alright, you're about to be stranded on the freeway" because I don't want to get out in that cold and pump gas, lol.

Yeah, well Elder Warren took the day off (since Pastor is out of town on his honeymoon  ::) >:() and Brandon... let's just say I will let him stay in his lane instead of asking him "don't you play drums??"  Disastrous.  :-\ :-[

No, Reno gets COLD.  We just finished a stretch where we couldn't get above the 20's all day long.  I been needing to buy a coat, too.  I'm not even properly bundled most of the time.
