So I spent some money and got a new setup
« on: January 16, 2010, 03:01:25 PM »
This past week I got the bug to randomly start blowing away money and boy did I. Initial plans were to buy a used 73 key electro 2 Nord since I miss mine and that's it, but I threw a curve ball and my purchases include the following:

Nord C2
Motion Sound Pro 3X Leslie
Randall 4 10" bass cabinet
Behringer 450w bass head
Roland Ev-7 expression pedal

My plans are to have a completely mobile organ rig that I can fit in my SUV. Our church is on program at a lot of churches and most of them do not have organs. I'm going to have the 4x10 cabinet control the lows of the keyboard while the Pro3x will handle the high's. The Behringer bass head (it's the new release with the tube in it) will power the cabinet. I chose this route because I can fine tune the entire rig to sound phenomenal. The bass head has a 10-band eq, the Pro3x has an eq and the keyboard as well. This week everything should be in I will get pix/vids of everything. So far I have the bass cabinet, bass head, and pro3x. I'm kinda stoked to say the least.....

Also..... I will add that I did not buy any bass pedals because we have a bass player, so it would have been money pointlessly spent.

The C2 is double manuals. I hope everything comes together in time, I just got word my Grandma passed away and will have to use it in Miami.

The electro 2 and 3 basically sound the same as far as the Hammond sound. The NE3 is supposed to be improved, I played one and it's not as user friendly as the NE2, so I was steered away from it.

sorry about your loss, pray it comes together.

I haven't played a 3;can you believe No one in ATl has one?  The one thing I noticed last time I played a 61+ 73 version was a weird "phase" using chorus and leslie together.I was playing thru a fairly big amp which was behind the organ;facing to the right. It probably was only using one cable.

I've noticed this in most of the clones going to an amp.but not so noticeable with headphones.

yes I will upload them to my page. The place I ordered the keyboard from still hasn't shipped it yet, there's been a problem with my bank card. My billing address (PO Box) isn't the same as my shipping address (home). So tomorrow it should go out from what they are saying. I changed the address at the bank on Friday I think it was.

I really considered the pro145, the downfall for me is that you have to mic that box when you're playing for a large audience. My 4x10 cabinet, 450w bass head and that pro3x gets loud, very very loud and won't need to be mic'd. At my church we tend to get really loud the only instrument that's mic'd is the drums. Everything else runs off of it's own amp. In short the pro145 just wouldn't cut the bill for me I don't think, I could be wrong though, too late to figure out though.

I think the pro 145 would be loud enough. Have you read the reviews? http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Keyboard+And+MIDI/product/Motion+Sound/Pro-145/10/1

And it has built in mics if you do need em

and if they didnt ship it yet then its probably not too late.

here's a quick pic with my camera phone. Ignore the KB4 down there. I need to get that thing sold soon. Oh and it's blurry too. Too lazy to get up and take another. lol
