Welcome btw

I havent yet, but this dude who came to church recommended that I use them to have the rhythm section play, and I fill in on keys at different speeds or keys, to get the hang and a better grasp on playing with people and around a rhythm section.

Honestly, there are many uses for midi files and a few of them have been mentioned already. I personally use them to learn certain progressions and chords to particular songs. Other uses include:
  • Analyze Each Instrument
  • Use as Background Music
  • Slow Down or Speed Up
  • Transpose

I know a lot of people use the Vanbasco Player however I use a program called 'Midiillustrator' (it does cost a little but its well worth it). It also allows you to do these things listed and much much more.
