Hmmm, let me try to wrap my brain around this and get back with you. My main problem is understanding how to use this in other keys. I want to make sure that every progression I learn can be transfered to any key. Thanks for taking time to share this with us, and if I'm asking a silly question please just pray for a sistah...LOL

This is how I do it Vonne:
Once I've established the key the progression is in, I look at all the chords in the progression in relation to that key--in this case being the key of Ab.
This requires that you can quickly identify all the notes & their numbers in any scale..but this can be attained with practice as you play & think of each note you play as a number.
Ab major scale: Ab/ G#=1; A=#1 or b2; Bb/A#=2; etc, you can complete it

So lemme illustrate with the 1st 3 chords:
2 here is a progression
BbFC/C#FAbC [2-6-3/4-6-1-3]
DbAb/CEbFAb [4-1/ 3-5-6-1]
EbBbF/EbGBbEb [5-2-6/5-7-2-5]
Now you are ready to play that in any key at a snap..

The fingering might be weird in other keys at 1st, but if you patiently hold out, you will be rewarded at the end

Best wishes my diligent friend.
