has anybody played the new fantom?  Was trying one @ Guitar Center;some of the sounds-like the organs REALLY didn't sound very good. The B3 sounds were more like distorted guitar, was expecting more like the VK-8.Piano sounds were good, but not as good as the $2200  stage piano (imo)

Hhhmmm I haven't tried the new fantom out for myself but based on what you're saying. Sounds like Roland may have tried a little too hard to "out do" Yamaha's XS
Keys, bass, drums, trombone, I sing a lil bit too lol

I played it and went to a Roland Clinic. I was very impressed. I didnt go through all the sounds because there were to many. But overall I think thats its a good board,  depending on what your needs are. I cant say that I would choose it over the Yamaha XS. I might be torn. ?/?

The XS didnt do anything much different as far as the sequencer, but it makes up for it with its sound library. MASSIVE!!!! Its great for live applications if your into utilizing more than piano, strings and organ.
Im too tall to act small.

I tried it today at guitar center and this thing is loaded with keyboard sounds. I tried the wind instrument patches but didn't like the attack on the flute patch, couldn't get that strong attack like when the flute is blown hard. It's nice, but I'll stick with yamaha for now.
