Korg Triton LE 88=I am ready to throw it out!

OK, My church bought this keyboard after the musician asked for a Roland.  She couldn't figure it out and just basically played the piano sounds which were horrible.  Fast forward to today.  The church just bought a Roland 700sx and she plays it. That thing is sooooo easy to use! Alas I am playing the KOrg. I   H A T E  it! I have yet to figure out how to simply save more than one sound to recall when I need it without going through all the combi, bank a, #127 etc. I am sick of this thing! I can't layer or split it yet, nor can I just simply change or add a layer seemlessly. 

Did I say I was frustrated! Ok, so if anyone here owns one of these things would you be so kind as to help me! I'll even see if my church will pay you for your time! (or I will) Thank you in advance.

Nice choice going with the Roland RD 700 SX...All of the sounds are useable and the keyboard is very user friendly.

I would like to have a set of sounds that are preset to each of those buttons under the screen so that I can just push one button to switch a sound and not have to go through the whole menu to find the next sound I need. Does that make sense?  I also need to know how to layer sounds and if I have real time control over the additional layers.  For example:  I am playing acoustic piano, and I want to add a pad and maybe some strings.  How do I bring in the strings when I am ready? Is that even possible on this thing?  We do not use the sequencer or the arpeggios because they are not appropriate for church.  (which is why the should have listened to the other musician in the first place) All I want to do is to just be able to save a few sound set ups. The manual is in Greek, and I have no patience to learn a whole new language. LOL

Ohhhhhhhhh! Why you didn't say so at first! All you need for that manual is a Strong's Concordance! Just like for the New Testament! Same thang.

I've had an LE 88 for a while, I agree the manual is like Greek lol. Really what I did to figure the board out is e-mail Korg, they respond usually within 24 hours and I just print and save the e-mails for when I need to split, layer, and/or anything else. They're excellent with responding. Wish I could be more help...

I tried reading the manual but it's hard to follow.
It's good that you can contact Korg but if you have a manual, you shouldn't have to.
If others can make their manuals easy to follow, Korg needs to do the same.

HA!!! Don't be so sure about that man. We have the Motif ES8 and the Roland Fantom X8 in church and were it not that the piano sounds suck on the Fantom, i would just stick to using the Fantom. I cannot figure out the Motif to save my life. The Fantom is extremely user-friendly.

I own a triton extreme and it's really simple to use to me.  Have had it for over  4 years I think LOL!!  I have experience using the Motif 6 as well.  To me the Triton is by far easier.  Although the Motif does have a better Full grand sound.  I can tell you how to combine sounds with the Xtreme but not sure if it's the same as the LE.  I actuallu think it's not.

But just go to programs

And the easy way is to go to Piano & Strings because it has two sounds available.  You are going to hit menu
look for edit basics
Then OSC Basics
Once your in their you see the sounds that make up the patch.  From thier you can play with the different sounds.  Being that I am doing this from memory I think if you hit ROM or NEW 1 something like that you can get to the different sound patches.

From what I know of Triton you can't store them under a button.  I can be wrong but you just have to memorize where you save them.  If I create a new sound I just store it under the instrument name.  For instance if I make a nice Piano sound I store it under piano.  I just made a nice electric keyboard sound with strings and I am playing with the effects to perfect it.  I am going to steel the full grand from the Motif and store it on my board next because I love the way the full grand sounds on it.

Be careful not to overwrite a company stored sound patch.  Just rename it if you ar egoing to go my way.  It' slike write program and then you can rename it to what ever you want.

have you checked Korgs web for instruction videos? think there's a few sources ;agree those manuals are written poorly.one time i was on phone with a tech support guy from alesis,what I wanted to do was in the manual-but not happenin.his comment? got 3 years of electronic engineering and I can't understand this! but he did find a way and call me back.hope encourages you

Here you go.  This is the manual online.  I love Tritons.  It took me like a whole year to figure it out but once I got it, I got it.  I never read the manual either.  Just more confusing.  if I can't find anything I just look at the oline manual.

Well don't quote me on that.  I just said I am not sure that you can.  As far as I know on my board you can't and I have a newer version.  But what you can do is bank it under it's sound and use the roller knob to move threw quicker or even write them on a stickie or something and keep it on top of your board. 

Also you can layer your sounds without editing a factory stored sound but the easiest way to do it is to use a factory stored sound and do something like a "save as" on your computer but on your board.
