Snare question

Hey, what up drum fam, quick question my wife got me a pdp drumset for christmas nuttin major but the snare head is thick like a telephone book whats the best head to buy 1ply or 2ply the snare is 5.5x14 snare please help.... be blessed

I think the most versatile would be 1-ply heads, specifically, Remo Coated Ambassador or Evans G1.

...you gotta try that Reverse Dot on that Dennis C. sir.  ;) 


...as for the original thread question.....a single ply head (Remo Coated Ambassador or Evans Coated g1) will do fine on that snare.

Yes that reverse dot is the truth!! I recommended the g2 hazy 300 combo because I had a crappy snare before my DC sig.(I'm not saying that antsmitty's snare is crappy) and it made the snare sound half way decent... So I'm a believer LOL!!
