I need all the help on this!
« on: March 31, 2011, 09:41:27 PM »
P.S. I'm the Japicaii guy, that user name didnt work so I went with Japica! So, Okay, I know how to play a normal Jesus is on the Mainline, but my male chorus wants to sing it a little differently. They want to sing it like Willie Neal and the Gospel Key Notes. I'm not the best at playing by ear, I can do it, but it takes me a while, thats something I need to improve on. But if anyone can at least try to break this song down for me, I'd really appreciate it and my male chorus, and God Bless. I love the way he sings this song! They get happy on this video!

Hi - this is what I got so far - not perfect, but the Lead sings solo on the 1st line of each verse, then over the other 3 parts on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th lines...

(see attached PDF)

PS - Am VERY grateful that we can attach files to posts now - thank you, Webmaster!

:)

I thank you much! If you could work it out a little bit more that would be great! What do you mean by 3 parts by the chorus?

What do you mean by 3 parts by the chorus?
What I meant was that Quartet is 4 parts - 1st Tenor, 2nd Tenor, Lead and Baritone. The soloist is the Lead (melody) - I didn't write all that out because everybody knows the melody. I wrote out his melody for the 1st line, then the 3-part harmony for the Men's chorus on the 2nd, 3rd, + 4th...

 - Call and Response -

Call:  (Solo Lead)
Je-sus is on the main     line,   tell Him what you want,
Db  Db   Db Db  Db   Db-Eb-Db Db-Eb   Fb   Db     Db       Db     Db

Response: (Choir - other parts)
Jesus is on the main line, tell Him what you want,        (3 Parts)
Gb  Gb  Gb Gb Gb   Gb      Gb     Gb   Gb     Gb       Gb    F          <--------1st Tenor
Db   Db  Db  Db Db   Db       Db     Db   Db      Db       Db    Db   <--------2nd Tenor
Bb   Bb  Bb  Bb Bb   Bb       Bb     Bb   Bb      Bb       Bb     Ab         <--------Baritone

The notes are the same for each verse.
Sorry if this does not line up, that's why I attached the PDF...Hope this helps...

Okay I understand now! Thanks! Now to figure out the chords and some bass runs! I think I'm thinking a little hard. What key is this, it's a little different?
