Yeah, I saw that this morning...
Although I think the Clinton camp's response was totally lame (especially since only 100 clergypeople were invited to that breakfast), I'm not so sure how I feel about Obama's campaign putting it out, though. From a political perspective, it struck me as a little desperate. It would've worked better if he did it less formally.... like, pulling it out of his shirt pocket in the middle of a sentence in a matter-of-factly kinda way.... like, well, I mean, Rev. Wright's a good guy... even President Clinton enjoyed his company and thought highly enough of him to invite him to the WH when he needed the support of a select few clergypeople.... yeah *chuckle* how funny is that? One of my aides showed this to me a few days ago and I thought it was cool.... all of this nonsense now is just another pitiful ploy to distract voters from the issues that really matter, but it worked out for our good since it opened the floor for us to have meaningful dialogue on the issue of race in America, something that we haven't really explored in depth since this season began...
I also heard about his little slip-up calling his white grandmother a "typical white person" who gets nervous when she (in other words) sees a black person on the street... that could be damaging to him.
