They don't go to church, T, they go to Hall.

What's the difference?  They do the same thing we do, just different beliefs, right?

Every religion has a different name for thier house of worship. Jews go to temple. Muslims go to a mosque, Thugs go to the street corner...........

Aiight, I guess I'll refrain from further commentary on this issue.

That's where I was going next...

Are the Jews wrong, too?  Should they be calling their synagogues/temples "church"?  Should the Muslims call their mosque "church"?  Should the Buddhists and Sikhs call their temples "church"?

I think kids have too many choices in some things. I think that's why most of our youth are in the shape that they are in.

Do you want to go to church today? Do you want to go to school? Do you want to do your homework? Do you want to go to college/trade school etc.?

That's why they come into my classroom and tell me what they don't want to do. It kills me. I just look at them and tell them in my most loving voice that it's not an option. You have to guide children if you love them. If you don't, let them run wild in the streets.

My grandmother tells the story of how her mother and father made sure that their 6 girls were guided in some direction. They had a plan for each one of their daughters- nursing, cosmetology etc. They had to do something!!! That was back in the 40s and 50s, so I know it can be done today. There are just too many fantastic opportunities for young people today.

When I first moved back from Atlanta, I had to stay with my parents for about 3 months. At the time, I was 35. That first Sunday I was there, here's how the conversation went:

Dad: "When you gonna get ready for church?"
Terri: "I don't think I'm going today."
Dad: "When you gonna get ready for church?"
Terri: "Daddy, I'm not going."
Dad: "Well, let me tell you this. Ain't nobody in this house grown but me and your momma. I'll see you at church at 11."
Terri: "Ok." *while mumbling under my breath getting ready for church*

I said that to say this: As long as Patrick is staying with me, no matter how young or old, he WILL be in somebody's house of the Lord on Sunday and Wednesday!

Naw they don't do the same thing we do, when they go to "the hall", they read, somebody gives a "talk" and they may sing a long drawn out "JW HYMNN" but it aint no piano, organ, shoutin, hand lifting NOTHING!!  The same goes for their weddings (best-friends brother and mother are JW's) and funerals.

I have a great-uncle and his family and some cousins who are JW's and they are cool, but when we have the sunday service at the close of the reunion weekend, they find "the hall" to go to.  This same uncle when his brother died back in the late 90's, my aunt had a seperate service at the funeral home so that the JW family members could pay their respects, but the next day, the funeral was at the church, and they all came and stood outside, but would not go in.

They don't do birthdays, holidays, the DON'T VOTE, nothing.
If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be!!!

As for me and MY HOUSE, we will serve the Lord. (When they leave from under my care, they may do as they wish).

Now when i was growing up, even major sickness couldn't keep us home... LOL!

Mannnnnn, they'd be like, "Oh, you're sick? 106 degree fever?  Well, come on get ready for church and let Bishop Morehead lay hands on you like the Bible says.  You can lay down on the back row if you need to."

And that was the end of that.   :D :D :D :D
