alot of people don't know but this is helpful when playing chords. when playing chords, don't play the root note of the chord split it up. what I meant is this
Example C/CEGB
instead play this
C/EGB
or this example
C/CEbGBbD
play this chord
CEb/GBbD
or play this
C/EbGBbD
because it allows you to have more options when playing the keyboard or piano I learn this from Johnathon from his video gospel keys 600.
for example if you are playing this progression 5-1-4 in the key of F
it would be C-F-Bb
Now you would probably play this progression with the scale degree 5 would be major, 1 would be a Major 4 would be a major.
Instead of playing these chords
C/CEGBbD
F/FACEG
Bb/BbDFAbC
You could play it like this
C/EGBbD
F/EGAC
Bb/FAbCD
it teaches you inversions and allows you to Stretch the chord out more here is another one
7-3-6 in the key of B
Bb Eb Ab
it would be in the scale degree 7=diminished chord 3=minor chord and 6=minor chord
so instead of playing
Bb/BbDbEGb
Eb/EbGbBbDb
Ab/AbBDbF
you can play it like this
Bb/DbEGb
Eb/DbGbBb
Ab/DbFB
I give more on this lesson later
