Put some sleeves on them arms!!!
« on: February 06, 2008, 08:54:54 PM »
Just wanted to ask everyone to pray for Tuskegee University and the surrounding area. I don't know if its like this anywhere else, but there is a nasty sickness spreading throughout campus. So many people are falling ill with the flu. The thing is that there are so many different strains of the flu going around that it may be very hard to recover once you catch it. And get this... my roommate has a cold and the flu simultaneously (cold:bacterial/ flu:viral). Thank God she is doing much better than she was over the weekend.

Anywho... the weather can be misleading in some areas like here in bama. Just because it is sunny, 75o outside, does not permit shorts and short-sleeves. Please, please, please wear at least a thin jacket, afterall, it is still technically winter. Also, if you feel a little wierd or have just a sniffle, you should take a little medicine now before it get really bad. This will help your immune system get ready to fight more effectively and help you get better sooner.

Yeah Vangelist, I JUST got well.  Had a 103 degree fever and chills, sick for all of 3 days, and then it just left as fast as it came.  Tricky weather here in FL too I see.

I'm 98% percent sure that you cant catch the flu, because you wear short sleaves or from being cold.
I've gotten sick from leaving the window open and waking up freezing but I dont think it was a cold. It only lasted one day. I have to research that.

A lot of people say that you should take Apple cider viniger when you get sick. Also take a whole bunch of vitimin C.

I avoid sickness by washing my hands at least 5 times a day. I've been doing this all winter and I have yet to be sick.

Wow as I am typing this There is a story on the news about a little 7 year old boy being killed by the flu. so this aint no joke. You should get your kids vacinated

They say that 90 kids die in the US each year from the flu, 30,000 senior citizens die each year from the flu

It was 71 here in Nashville yesterday and I had my sunroof open.  Today I have a crick in my neck.  I wonder if that's related.  Today it is very cool.  Usually that what happens after these huge storms.

I have heards about these new flu strains.  I think there was an epidemic here at one of the campuses as well.  Another good thing to do is wash your hands(I pretty much have OCD when it comes to that), keep your surroundings clean and germ free, and don't drink or eat out of the same container.  Also take your vitamins(mainly Vitamin C), echinachea, cod liver oil , and zinc.
When you've done your very best, do even better.

In this age of global warming, the weather can be VERY fickle. Vangelist IS correct, one should wear clothes based on the month and not on the day of the year.

As for the flu going around, it's EVERYWHERE. I had a 24 hour virus just last Thursday, luckily we had an impromptu day off, last Friday, so I could rest and recover.
