Rhyme or Reason
« on: January 09, 2008, 10:16:25 PM »
Hey family how's everyone... Well my question is..is there any printed theory in passing chords/fill-ins. I would catogorize myself as an advance beginner/early intermediate player. Im able to read chord charts and some site reading and when i see a fill in/passing chord im trying to figure out the theory...or is a passing chord just whatever sounds good in between.....blessings

That's a good question man.  Unfortunately, there really is no set answer for it.  There isn't any pattern for what specific chords ro use as fill-ins, but whatever chord you choose to use can be analyzed using theory.  So, basically it's up to you what u want to play, then later u can use theory to explain it.
Real musicians play in every key!!!
