Craziness, right?  (new) Cymbals will be like homes in California - too expensive and some will be "priced out".

You right about that. Zildjian are already somewhat over priced just like these houses out here in California. You all should really think about going with these custom boutique cymbal companies and get off the name brand trip. It's way more cost effective. The wait can be a negetive, but I feel it's worth it.

Man, Im done with Zildjian if this happens!.. This is Just like Jordan is Doing to consumers now, he is jacking up the prices of all his Retro Kicks about 10% Everytime the get Re-Released. Jordan's Quality of late has been AWFUL. Zildjian is the Leading Cymbal Brand, so why take already expensive cymbals and make the even more expensive. I could see maybe a little increase if Zildjian cymbals were more Consistent as far a sound goes.. But THEIR NOT!  >:( Yeah BEATBOXERS, Can you send me some links for the "Other" Companies ;)

Easy solution: Don't buy them (Retro Jordans or the increased priced Zildjians).  You do have a choice.   ;D

...and, that's the only serious choice (pun on Zildjian's slogan).

Zildjian is hardly "The Bentley of cymbals" - Paiste already has that distinction (if you're referring to the "common") brands waaaay before the announcement of the percentage increase.

Note the deletion of the word "brands" to remove the error in my statement:

Another angle to my statement (so that we're on the same page, cuz I was on your page) Bentley=high price; Paiste="Bentley of cymbals".  The pricing for Zildjian is nowhere close to the price of Paiste (Signature, New Signature, Traditional, RUDE, etc.).  What does Zildjian need to step up with to justify the price increase?  They're going to do the same thing that they've always been doing for some time now: nothing

Trust me; I know what you were referring to.  That's why I made that reply.  "This j_kay, dawg."   ;D

I wonder is the cymbal sounds as nice as the price is? 8) ::) Man I would LOVE to try one! For only $60 I can get a 16" Crash In Brilliant Finish Made from B20 Bronze Which is what most highend cymbals are made of right??? :-\ "Wha you think Dawg?" :D

they are awsome i have the whole set of the mist X series; (2). 8" splashs (3). 16" crash, one is an Ozone style;14" high hats;24 inch ride cymbal with a raw bel. I even put in an 18" alpha paiste to see if the quality would hold up. Saluda holds their ground!!! The shop is local here in Columbia and I have seen people trade in their top notch cymbals for theirs, everything from A's to K's.
You can make it happen; whatever you want

I haven't heard any in person, but there are quite a few people that swear by them.  Look at CARLISLE - he owns a whole set of Saluda Cymbals.

Rich, I would suggest to contact Saluda and ask for Jamie.  Describe a sound and he'll create a cymbal with the sound that you're looking for.  If it isn't right, send it back and he'll get it right for ya.

That's exactly why Zildjian is increasing prices.  They're probably getting killed by these new jacks in the game.  It's also a test of loyalty to those that think Zildjian is the only cymbal to have.  That's why I play Sabians(And they're not bargains either).  And they have been good to me over the years.  I haven't had to replace a cymbal yet.  But if I ever have to make a change, I may try a new brand out.
When you've done your very best, do even better.
