Hello everyone. I have a question for anyone that can help me. I need help with learning some congregational song that are more like the COGIC congregational praise songs. I have been in the Baptist church most of my life. I was asked to play for a church by a friend of mine. I agreed to it. When it came down to the Sunday I had to play, I did not go. I woke up and felt like I was not prepared to get up in front of a new church and fake like I know what I am playing. This church is more COGIC-like with the praise songs. I know how to sing them, but I don't know the first thing on how to play them correctly. I could probably bang my way through them using a couple of chords, but I want to make sure I play them correctly. I was trained in classical music and later blessed with the gift of playing by ear, so being precise with the music is what I am accustomed to. I want to make sure it is right. Can someone give me some advice on how to play them? What songs can you give me the chords to so that I can practice on them? What else can you give me? I need help with congregational songs, shout/dance music, and some worship chords. I am desperate. I try to learn songs online, but the more I look at them, the more confused I get. I can read music, so if you have sheet music then that will do too. Thanks for looking at my question. Have a good one.
