Who thinks in terms of stacked chords?

Fam,
I find that the easiest way for me to remember chords and progression is to think about my LH and my RH playing two chords (often triads) simultaneously.
For instance, I think of a Imaj7add9 as a V-over-I.
In C, that would be CEG/BDG (Gmaj triad over Cmaj triad).
I recommend this way of thinking, as it breaks the even the most complex chord into two simple ones.
Does anyone else think that way?

There is a table at the bottom of this article that if you play the 1 and 7 (C,Bb) in the left hand and the triad listed in the right hand it forms the chord named on the right.

I do that all the time.  It makes it easier for me but I'm sure those heavy into theory wouldn't recommend it.

Exactly, it may make it easier for some chords...but I don't recommend it, I always look at both hands together. 

ex., Lets say the chord was a Maj13 - C-E-G-B-D-F-A

Would you call it:  B1/2dim7 (Bm7-5) over CMaj  or Dmin over CMaj7 (VIIm7-5-over-I or IImin-over-1)

Both would be correct, but it can become more confusing.
