Which do you prefer: Volume/Volume or Master Volume/Pan?
« on: November 19, 2007, 08:50:53 AM »
As the title states, which of these electronic setups do you prefer more?

My new bass has a volume volume and I think i'm being swayed towards that setup.  I just feel like I can dial in SOOOOOOO much more meat with it.

Anyone have any reason to believe one is better then the other?  Or do you feel it's just a personal preference?

I prefer separate volume controls (vol/vol).  That way you can totally control each pickup individually and have a TRUE blend of neck and bridge pickups if you prefer.

i like them both. the seperate pickups volumes gives me that fender jazz kind of feel...and if there's an active EQ involved.... with that it adds versitility. on a passive fender jazz it takes me a litte time tone get my tone cause i have to play with the volumes for a bit. i love the volume pan cause it gives me that instant low end growl when i roll it back.

I prefer volume / volume, like on my Marcus Miller.

But my absolute favorite is volume / volume . master volume.  I can set the volume of the two pickups relative to each other, then control the overall volume with the master volume.

do alembics come with that configuration stock?

Signature basses and Series I basses come with Vol / Vol

Series II basses come with Vol / Vol / Master Vol.

Most Alembics can be custom ordered with practically any type of arrangement you want.

Peace,

Master Vol and pan for me... to me it's easier to dail in the tone and i usually play with both pickups on full to give a fat sound.. i usually keep everything on flat and i just adjust the volume only..
