Update of My progress......

This is just an update of my progress:

Playing by reading sheet music Piano lessons:  I am currently learning slurs and ties.  Playing chords with the left hand and melody with the right and vice versa.  My piano teacher gave me my book of Christmas corals that I must practice to get ready for my first recital Dec. 3rd or 10th.   With the help of the Lord, I am making great progress.

Playing by ear and progressions:  I entered the worship progression menu where the midi files are.  I listen to the midi of the 1-4-5 progressions playing, Oh Lord We Praise You, with the help of the Lord, I actually heard the Chords and played the song.

With all the help that I am getting here at LGM and my piano teacher I believe that I am on my way to becoming a Gospel Musician.

That's great news, keep up the good work!!!

Speaking of ties and slurs, I'm learning to play the violin in school and this is where we are in our book.  It is much harder than playing the piano, but with the Lord's help I will get better at it.

Oh, don't be fooled.  If it wasn't for a class, I probably wouldn't be learning.  I guess it will be a benefit to me down the road, cuz right now I don't like it, LOL.

Being a musician can be very tough at times but the reward is much greater than risk. Praise the Lord!

My practice song for this week is when the Saints Go Marching In with RH Melody & LH Chords and then LH Melody & RH Chords, I have finihsed with this song.  Also learned incomplete measures.

Now I am moving on to the G Position in sight and G progressions. (Do you think this is a good idea?)  I am trying to learn every key. 

Continue to pray for me, I am striving to play skillfully for the Lord!

Yes, I actually played two congregational songs Sunday:  What you know about Jesus and God is a good God.  I am currently working on my shouting chords.

I have learned the G notes , G chords and now practicing on the progressions.  Practicing on the songs I know in key of G.   

My left hand is getting much stronger; I now can play chords with my left hand and right hand at the same time. I am getting better and better. Praise the Lord!  Thank you for asking!

How much time do you spend practicing every day.    I'm very  happy to hear about your progress.   As you continue to practice, things will get easier and you'll learn  progressions faster and faster.

Also learning to read sheet is always a good idea.

I am currently learning the G major notes and chords.



I practice at least an hour a day, sometimes longer depending on how much extra time I have.  I agree the progressions are getting easier to learn.

I am beginning to understand theory more and more.  My Lord!  I am so excited!  Praise be to God!  Thank you everyone for your help!  I am increasing, progressing and I got more JOY!
