Hammond B3P Portable B3

Does anybody know how this organ sounds before I buy one for travel.

And if it doesn't sound good, what is a great portable organ to get?

They say it sounds exactly like a real B3. I dont think i've ever heard one in person, but Ralph used one on his album and it sounds just a little wierd. If i were you i'd get the XK system :

it would probaly be half as much as  a new B3 and if you have a small gig you can just take one manualinstad of a whole  organ . and it does look better than the b3 portable which  is probaly too ugly to be in a church or living room.

The Hammond B3P is nothing more than the Hammond New B3 in a different shell. I've been using the XK-3 for almost a year now and I still love it. I'm also playing the XK3 through a Leslie 122 which is being driven by a Speakeasy Vintage Tube Preamp. I think you can pre-order the new XK3c at some places. I'm not sure if you can through Tonewheel General Hospital, but you might want to ask because he is a Hammond dealer. The XK-3c is due to be shipped mid-November.

I'd go with a XK setup. If you're gonna run a leslie with it...I'd go with the XK 1, 2, and 3. If you wont have a leslie....the XK 1, and 2 actually have "better" leslie simulators than than the XK3 IMO. But like someone said earlier, going with a XK setup/system you'd save a bunch of money and get 95% of almighty B3 sound!

Seriously check this link out!!!!  this is NOT run through a LEslie!  only regular acoustic speakers!  This is the perfect travel B3 sound and a lot less expensive!    NORD C1

only thing i dont like about Nords, is im aggressive when it comes to the drawbars, and its a drag pushin buttons....

+1 Push button drawbar control?!?  That's a negative for me, too.  I like pulling and pushing my drawbars on command!  Part of getting your sound while you're playing is being able to literally feel how your drawbars are arranged.

MAN THE NORD SOUNDS SO GOOD TO ME AND ITS CHEAPER BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME IT HAS ROLLOVER BASS THATS WHY I NEVER BOUGHT IT BUT THAT DIDNT SOUND LIKE ROLLOVER BASS TO ME.I WAS GOING TO GET THE NORD61
