Now, I was a bit of a Star Trek fan already (not the type to don a costume or know everything about the series per se), but, hallelujahthankyaJesus, I think I may be even more of a fan now.  ;D

I hope JJ Abrams does a good job with this... and I hope he's not afraid to try a new direction.  Later for these fanboys and their "continuity" whining, just make a good movie and try to breathe new life into the franchise.

I saw Star Trek TOS for the first time about a year ago. Man, Uhura had a goin' on. If only Nichelle Nichols was 55 years younger, and went to my churchimdb.com says she was a 35-23-37 in 1960!...  :D
Also on an interesting note, I read that she almost left the series after being fed up with racist harrassment and withholding of fan mail. She'd submitted her letter of resignation, but MLK Jr. convinced her to withdraw it because her role was a very important breakthrough in TV history (considering TV shows like "Beulah" and "Amos and Andy" were aired a little more than 10 years before). As Spock would say with that stoic look, "fascinating..."

I'm a Star Trek fan...you can't bring in new people to portray old characters. It's just time to wrte another chapter with different characters.

Indeed. Leave the history alone.

That's where they messed up with Enterprise. They should have went further in the future.

a Voyager movie wont make sense. they're already home.


Redoing Capt. Kirk? I dunno. It's like redoing the 10 commandments wit another dude, but you still see Charlton Heston as Moses. Some roles are just iconic.

Shatner was a ham, erry body knew he was a ham. But being a ham made Capt. Kirk work.

I wonder who theyre gonna get for sulu? will he be a fruit too?


one thing i will say, I'll keep an open mind. When Next Gen preimered, I hated it. I eventually became a fan.

It'll be interesting what Zack Quinto(Sylar) does with the spock character.

Let me ask you a question Mr. Trekkie sir. I'm a little confused as to the "time periods" Voyager and TNG are supposed to take place in. Do they overlap? Because in the last TNG movie, Captain Janeway made an appearance, and Geordi LaForge made some appearances in the Voyager series. Can you clear it up for me?
