NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP!
« on: July 10, 2007, 05:41:12 PM »
Hola LGM.  Im Julian R. Stowe from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  I am a 17 year old young man who has, at an early age converted to christianity.  I have reached the point where I am not ashamed to praise and worship the Lord anymore.  And the Lord has called me to teach all nations of His wonderful works and teach of my experiences through my music.  Therefore He has informed me to start a Praise and Worship group.  But I am like Noah, I DONT KNOW WHAT IM DOING!  I dont know where to start.  I mean, i play instruments and I sing, but where do I start as far as putting a praise and worship group together?  Could someone please help me with this.  Thanx in advance, and God IS Blessing!

Allow me to introduce myself. I am David. I am a few years older than you. As a Minister of Music, I must say that this is quite a calling. It is never too big for you to handle. When i first called into the music ministry I was about 15 and thought it was too much. I know exactly what you mean. However my suggestions are the basic the same as Stephan. Most people make mistakes by cultivating ministries by looking at what other people have and imitating that. However, you must only do what works for your Ministry. Each Praise Team Ministry is different and unique. Stephan is right you have to wait on God for his guidance and direction. You can not rush into it. God is a God of order and you have to make sure things are in order. You have to really be able to set the atmosphere for the worship service. Praise and Worship is vital in a service. When I first moved into the ministry of Praise and Worship my pastor had me pray and meditate over John 4:23-24. It is a very powerful message there. But you must do as Stephan said and pray and wait on God to give you direction. You may even have to fast and pray for the development of this ministry. Anytime I get ready to embark on a new ministry I have to pray and fast and meditate on what God's purpose is for that ministry. I pray that everything works for your good and the good of your ministry!
