I never thought anyone would ask that question..well for my church..well for my Youth Choir no one really sings the lead horrible because when we are at rehearsals if they sound terrible and I cant find a replacement..I will do the lead myself as I would have already known the song and I have a wide vocal range..However if I go to another church or concert or wherever and I hear a terrible lead..my eyes start running water because I really want to laugh..but I cant because everyone knows me as a singer and will say I am laughing because I know I can sing..I think the bottom line is that they are doing it for God and even if we do laugh they are singing for his glory.

Oh man, I laugh! I put my head down between my legs and laugh! People look at me but, I dont' care. Its funny because the same girl who tried to be so critical towards me when I sung, gets up there and murders a song. Listen this is rule #1 if you are an alto you don't need to try and sing a soprano song if you cant sing. Someone has mislead this girl and told her she was an contralto! not so! She sounds a hot mess even the children choir laugh at her.

Well, I've been in those situations.  If I'm in the audience and that happens, I HAVE to get up and walk out!  I would be laughing so hard, I couldn't control myself.  Afterwards, I would probably offer the pastor a free choir consultation.   :-\

Since I was knee-high to a cricket i can remember hearing some hetroscoius singing. And as i becaome started my music ministry I played for a church where NOBODY could hold a tune even if they had a collection plate. I simply learned to have a deaf ear.  But now that I'm older and wiser I either: keep playing in the key I started in or stop playing altogether because I refuse to have my name attached to someone else's FILTHY, STINKIN', BURNIN' HOT MESS!

Well I think you need to offer help. I don't think laughing or just straight up not playing is wrong. Yeah sometime you can't help yourself. But the Lord will accept all praise no matter how bad it sounds to us it is music to his ear. So we should never stop the flow and worship of God because we don’t like it. Just don’t dwell on the sound coming from the person dwell on the words and begin to create an atmosphere of worship. Then you will no longer her that persons sing because it all about you and GOD in that moment.  :)

The bible says Make a joyful noise.  Everyone is not blessed with the gift to sing harmonously or even pleasantly, but she does have a right to make a joyful noise to her God  It may hurt your ears, but pray for her do not laugh at her.  she is a child of the King, just as everyone else. She has right to praise Him.  I agree music should be in a manner to usher; however, sometimes, the lyrics themselves are more powerful than the key, the tone, the pitch and THE INSTRUMENTS.

Ease up people.  She may not have voice like others, but she is willing to give back to God what He has given her and I am sure that where it might hurt your ears.  It is like sweet, sweet music to HIS.

That pink is wrong. :-\
Despite our communication technology, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.

First of...let's see... who selected this person to lead this song and was he/she the only person willing to lead?
