I have received several request for older songs.(I Love Older Songs Also)
I have decided to post many of the great songs of the past.
Many choirs have started singing the older songs or remaking them.

Please post your favorites!

No Greater Love
(written by David Allen)  Key of Bb
(recorded by Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) National Mass Choir)
(based on John 3:16, John 15:12-13)

Verse:
For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son.
The Son gave His life for me,
when He died on Calvary.

There is no greater love,
no love nowhere, no greater love;
than a man would lay down His life for a friend,
no love nowhere, I’ve searched all over.

Chorus 1:
There is no greater love,
there is no greater love,
there is no greater love,
no greater love.

Bridge:
No greater love,
than a man would lay down His life for a friend.

Chorus 2:
No greater love,
no greater love,
no greater love,
no greater love.

No greater love,
no greater love,
no greater love,
no greater love.

Vamp 1:
Jesus went to Calvary
to save a wrench,
like you and me;
that’s love, that's love.

Vamp 2:
They hung Him wide,
they strecthed Him wide.
He hung His head, and then He died;
that’s love, that's love.

Vamp 3:
That’s not how the story ends,
three days later He rose again;
that’s love, that's love.

Trust in the Lord and do good so shalt thou dwell in the land and verily thou shalt be fed.

My Liberty
(written by Shirley Joiner)
(recorded by Southeast Inspirational Choir)

Verse
I want to see the blessed face
of Him who died for me,
who sacrificed His life for my liberty.

Bridge 1
(He saved my life) before I ever knew it.
(He paid the price) He didn't have to do it.
(And I know) I can never repay it.
(All my life) I will ever praise His name.

Bridge 2
(He saved my life)
before I ever knew it.
(He paid the price)
He didn't have to do it.

(And I know)
I can never repay it.
(All my life)
I will ever praise Him.

(Don't you know He picked me up)
and turned me all around.
(In his love)
I am ever found.

(Don't you know He gave me joy)
in the place of sorrow.
(He is my hope)
for a new tomorrow.

(Don't you know He is)
the joy of my salvation.
(And I have)
a new determination

(How could He love me so,
I'm sure I'll never know why He)

Chorus
Sacrificed His life for my liberty.

Trust in the Lord and do good so shalt thou dwell in the land and verily thou shalt be fed.

Joy, joy

Behind every dark cloud, there’s a silver lining,
After each rain storm, there’s a bright new start,
When troubles bid you, and friends deceive you,
Oh don’t worry, it will pass over, in the morning

When trials on your heart stream(?), don’t be discouraged,
And even though, pain and misery, fill your eyes with tears,
These trials will soon pass, and soon they will depart,
Oh, hallelujah, they will pass over, by and by.  And remember

Weeping may endure for a night but
Joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy.  Joy joy will come.
