As far as I know, the DVD has been released today (at least our drum shop has it in stock).  Does anyone have it?

Explorers percussion in KC had one copy Thursday.  I went in yesterday and it was gone.  The owner was even surpised at how swiftly it moved.  He was going to buy it for th store but some lucky bum beat him to it.   :-\

I picked up my copy on today (07.07.07) - I got it from our Five Star Shop (Drums2Go).  They got it in on 06.05.07, and had plenty of copies.  After I bought my copy, there was maybe one left.

The same thing happened with Sam Ash, more specifically, only having one copy and selling the store's demo/copy.  They may get it in after the 15th - that's my prediction.

If you want amazing hands this dvd is a must I think. The explaination is clear and scientific.

There are chapters explaining different grips ie german french etc, and how best to use them. The moeller technique is broken down and explained very well. Theres also a chapter on different techniques which is called secret weapons. My favourite chapter is the chop factory which explains exercises to help speed, accuracy, endurance, power, dexterity and control. There is also a cool concepts chapter and pratice advice.

My advice is get this dvd! 10 out of 10. Does exactly what its says on the front.

My review, after finally watching it on 07.22.07 - I got it on 07.07.07: There isn't a DVD that can mess with it regarding thorough detail and explanation.

So how may LGMers actally bought and watched/studied the DVD. I got mine last Saturday and watch Disk 1 Saturday and Disk 2 on Sunday. Now I am watching Disk 1 again!
This is a sophisticated approach to technical stuff that Jeff Queen teaches on his DVD but geared toards the drum set player specifically. If you seriously want better hands get both. In my opinion Jojo with bring understanding to the Jeff Queen teachings.

Jojo's insight fromthe musicians standpoint and technical mastery a well as his excellence in instruction make this the hands down inner for the next MD Readers Poll.

My top 5 Instructional DVDs currently for beginners and players ready to be students:

Jojo Mayer: Secret Weapons...
Michael Packer: Bass Drum and Hi-Hat...
Steve Smith: Drumset Technique and History of the US Beat
Tommy Igoe: Groove Essentials
Billy Ward: Big Time

Thomas Lang: Creative Control
Joe Morello: Natural Technique
Rick Latham: Advanced Funk Studies
Joe Franco:Double Bass Drumming* must get the book

I own it. Bought it a week and a half ago...Haven't had a chance to watch it all yet. Seen about 1/4 of Disc 1. Everyone knows Jojo is my favorite. So far, as j_kay said, this is extremely thorough! The 15 minutes that I have seen have been more helpful than anything else I've watched.

Its a must have if you want to improve your hands.
