I had never seen and barely even heard of Sonny until I bought this DVD a couple of years ago and man every sense this guy is one of my favs.

That's an old school Yamaha Beech Custom kit in Pearl Yellow finish. The snare is a 14x5.5 Yamaha Manu Katche snare.
His sound is awesome. Jeremy Haynes used to rock those Beech Custom's aswell.
