Head choice
« on: May 11, 2007, 07:23:38 AM »
Hey, I know that I ask about my Musashi alot but I put a G2 Coated on it a couple of months back and my snare is not cutting through the music like it used to... I observed that the stock head and resonant heads were Ambassadors... Ambassadors are only a 1Ply head.....So my question is that since I combined a 2ply head with a 1 ply resonant head, will this quite the volume of my snare? because I have noticed that It has not been as loud as usual and It doesnt cut as much as it used to... ?/? 8) ?/? :)

What are you doing putting a G2 on a Sashi???

The G2 is killing your snare man...Get a one Ply on it. Just like we recommended in your first Musashi thread.
For Evans, get a G1 or a Genera.

....you remember wrong.  G2 on the snare doesn't sound like me at all. lol

...I think that was SK.  He has a G2 on his but he also has a Hazy 200 on the snare side. ;)  You have to even out the sound playa. ;)

Yamboy, you must think you're snare is a tom...

That 2ply over 1ply combo is better suited to toms man. I'd believe if Funky suggested that combo for your toms... but not you're snare.

Definitely go with the 1ply batter... take your pick really. Just find your sound.

Fre..... I know.... It was sort of dumb on my part because for some reason I thaught that the G2 would control my snare a bit.... I cant even tune it high because It has a flat but high pithed tone.... To sum it up I am going back to the Ambassador..... More open sounding and an overall better suited head for my drum... ;) Thanks guys... Maybe Ill read a little more carefully next time...  ;D

Im am debating on the COATED G1 and the Ambassador...
But Im leaning more toward the Evans because they are a little more durable to me...

Remo: Batter: Ambassador   Reso: Ambassador

Evans: Batter: G1    Reso: Hazy 200 or 300....  8) :-\
