I got a shed coming up, and I wanted some new praise break licks chords and bass runs...if anyone has any, please post them. If its not too much trouble....

Really nothin fam, remember I'm kinda still learning...I need something/...anything is cool....I just need some praise break chords and runs...to work with at this shed...something that I can play around with.....and get busy....

1. The scale degrees for the 1st run are: 1, 3, 5, 6, 1

2. The scale degrees for the 2nd run are: 1, 2, #2/b3, 3, 5, 6, 1

A couple of questions:

1) I'm trying to get stronger on fingering.  any recommendations on the fingerings for these runs, especially as I transpose them into other keys?  I think i need some general fingering guidelines.

2) okay...so using these in the context of a song:

lets say I'm playing in the key of Eb (major) which most these runs are written in....

so lets say I play run #1 just the way you have it written over the Ebmaj chord.  but them I go to the IV chord Abmaj.  Now what, do I transpose that run up 5 semitones (a fourth) and then play that over the Abmaj chord?

and then what do I do over the minor chords if the progression contains minor chords?

Well, some general guidelines for runs (from my experience) are: 

1. The only time your thumb will play a black key is at the beginning of a run
2.  If there are white keys involved, your thumb will play most of them
3.  Your third finger is the most used finger, and it will most likely play a black note
4.  Your pinky is the least used finger

Since I got the scale degrees next to the runs in Eb, all you gotta do is play the Ab scale degrees, and then you won't have to take it up __ 1/2 steps.

The idea is to use the run that best fits the chord.  That comes with practicing each run and playing chords until you find some that fit together.  Once you got it, then you can analyze it and translate it to every other key.  That's how I do it.

Yep.  As you practice, think of different ways you can use them.  Most good music is by accident, just playing around experimenting then you hit the jackpot.
