Loopy,
Why would the story he wrote make you not want to listen to Timothy Wright's CD. I'm not understanding.
I like Timothy Wright, and I have been blessed by his music ministry. Also his time will pass when God says so...I'm shocked that you would judge him and the situation and you weren't even there.
I am probably stepping over my boundaries by going "against" the well known members. But I couldn't believe some of the comments.
Clarification. I said nowhere in my post that the "story he wrote" made me not want to listen to his CD. I had heard the song AND the story well before now, so that had nothing to do with it. My comment about the CD is in response to the offering part, and about him saying how he was "just as anointed as T.D. Jakes". THAT'S what turns me off, and I have a right to have my opinions about when artists compare themselves to another.
The BIBLE says the he who compares himself to another is not wise. The same BIBLE, in the same book (Proverbs) says that you should let another man praise you, and NOT from your OWN lips.
I've been a gospel listener for a long time and have been a fan of Timothy Wright's work, but it's not the FIRST time that I have been turned off by something artists have said, particulary him and Richard "Mr. Clean" White (COGIC folks I'm sure can attest). I'm not "judging" BTW, I'm just going by what the man said out of his own mouth, and THAT'S MY OPINION.
Also, you're not over-stepping any boundaries my brother. We're just having a discussion, and you have a right to your opinion.
P.S. I will still listen to the CD, as I'm sure theere's probably some good choir material on it.
