Only Love held Him there on the cross.....Patrick Bradley

Saxman, do you know if this is a GMWA Mass Choir song? The name Patrick Bradley looks familiar, and I think he's written a few songs for GMWA.

No problem and of course I don't mind. I'm glad that you asked me though, that was very considerate of you (unlike some people who don't ask and see no problem with it.)

WE ARE SINGING HE WAS HUNG UP FOR MY HANGUPS AND MY MAMA IS FLAT KILLING IT!

We were getting ready for it (background wise) and it all went well.  The lady I chose to lead the song didn't really put the time into it and crammed all day Wednesday to have it ready by rehearsal time.  My breath was literally STRIPPED from me when she stood at the mic and said "it should have been me, TWINKIE on the cross".  I could not breathe!  Then, she said she didn't know the rest of it and it was ten minutes until 9pm (they believe in going home AT 9)...

So, the decision was "don't do the song....or find another leader at the ninth hour".  So, I went home to sleep on it, but before I could sleep I remembered my mama leading a song when I was like 10 or 12 where she put her name in a song.  Lo and Behold, it was HE WAS HUNG UP FOR MY HANGUPS!!!

So, she came to my musician's rehearsal yesterday afternoon and killed it in one blow! I will NOT be able to direct!!!!

THEN, WE'RE DOING:

"Because He Lives" (COGIC Arrangement/Dr. Clark)

"He Lives" (Beverly Crawford...a definite pew flipper)

"No Greater Love" (GMWA)

and the old faithful quartet number "JESUS IS ALIVE AND WELL" (for the 21st Easter since I've been a member  :-\ )

And I must give a special shout out to Brother VT for blessing me with that song "Because of the Blood".  I can't tell you how we will end it, because at rehearsal every area of the pews in the choirstand had been flipped!!!!!!!!

Man!! After these lists, no one should ever have to post asking for Easter song suggestions EVER AGAIN!!  ;D

Our Resurrection production this year featured the youth choir and we did:

Nothing But the blood (Thomas Whitfield)
No Greater Love (David Allen)
Calvary (Richard Smallwood)
He Lives (Youthful Praise)
Matthew 28 (Donald Larence)

My chirren KILLED IT!!! We will be reprising "Matthew 28" for Easter Sunday, and we will be doing "He's Alive" by Walt Whitman (which we did for our concert last year).
