Topic: GIVING UP FOR LENT........? (Read 1758 times)

I did a search & couldn't find this topic elsewhere soooooo......

Do people still give up things for lent?? I gave up coffee, my dad gave up sweets, & my mom gave up going back to bed after Dad leaves for work

(hey, she's retired....))

Well being that the "Season of Lent" is not based in scripture and is a rite and rituals established under Catholicism, I ain't givin up nothin! Sorry. (lol)

Give a sistah a break.....I'm not saying giving up things (sacrificing) is a Biblical command, nor am I denying the fact that this practice has its roots in Catholicisim. Just askin' a question, dude!

Usually my old church had a fast around this time, even though they were apostolic. They never mentioned lent, but just a fast. Alas, Im not there, so no I did not participate.

I ain't giving up nothing. My church as a whole doesn't recognize it, but there are a few people in the church who do.
