I, now, await the arrival of his Hammerness.  ::) :D :D

It's rare when Furious and I agree, but if we ALL agreed on this, I'd have to run for cover because the sky must be falling!!!

B really nailed the point.

Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.

That's what the Bible says.

To get tattoos is an act of conforming.  You'd be hard-pressed to convince anyone that it isn't.

Now, if you got them when you were UNSAVED, and you've received the Lord, then you are a new creature, and that's gone.  Even if it's still on your body, The Lord sees you as a New Creature.

But why would a New Creature continue to act as if they were a part of the world?  We are not a part of the world.  Our citizenship is in heaven, and we should act the part.

Note: Saying that our own righteousness is "filthy" is a truth, because where sin abounded grace did much more abound.

But shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
God forbid.

There are STILL things that we shouldn't do.

There are STILL guidelines.

The fact that we are justified by Christ is NOT an excuse to do whatever we please.
In all honesty i got my tats when i turned 18. The smallest tat reads in Chinese "Man of Power" (supposedly), the 2nd tat is a "pitbull w/redeyes "appearing to be bursting out of my skin, and above that one it reads "Devil Dogg". I was really really dumb for getting this one, but that is what being unsaved will get cha.
My moms space...still under construction...stay tuned...

If people want to start teaching and following Leviticus why stop there? There's a whole bunch of laws in there people can follow and become the Christian "elite". Make sure you'all cross all the T's and dot all the I's too. Maybe you can make a new rule book Jon, being an educator and all.  ;)

Look, people have to do what they feel is right for themselves to do. By their own actions they stand or fall. I would never start quoting Leviticus to a Gentile believer. It's either all by grace or not at all.

Here's a piece of "hell doctrine" for you... if all tears will be dried in heaven, and people you know now... relatives, friends, co-workers... are all being tortured in hell forever... do you still think there would be no more tears? Unless of course, you want to see them being tortured. I do not beleive that God tortures people. The second death is just that... a second death... a spiritual death. I would not be happy in heaven knowing I had some relatives and friends being tortured. I would ask God to be merciful to me and kill me, because I really DO NOT want to spend eternity with somebody who gets off on torturing people. No sir, my God doesn't do that.

I don't have one. I don't want or need one. I also don't look down on those who want one. I don't encourage it but I won't discourage it either. I'll tell them to do everything prayerfully. Seek the Lord, He'll give you the answers you need. That's what I would tell them... and guess what... even if they hear wrong and do what the Lord says "no" to, He'll still forgive them when they ask. He's a Loving Father and Faithful Friend.  :)

So, to answer the question directly, yes, I could get one if I wanted to.... but no, I don't want one.

So glad you finally decided to answer the question.

But, why did you have to go around Robin Hood's barn before answering. It's a rhetorical question.  ::)

This type of reasoning is common. the problem is simply that many do not know how to rightly divide the word of God.

There were 3 kinds of Laws in the Old Testament

1) Ceremonial

2) Civil

3) Moral

the ceremonail Laws were done away at the cross

the civil Laws were for Israel ONLY

BUT the Moral laws are for all eternity

I dont think that was the question....

But anyways, I 100% agree that if a person decides to do their own thing, that God will still forgive the BELIEVER.... I dont think that was ever an argument.

Because its GAY....

Thats the same thing my brother asked, and thats the answer my dad gave him. But, I do believe in doing research, we found that culture and traditioned deemed ear piercing to be something that women did, and in those times, it was un common of men.

BX,

Your explanation for earrings being gay doesn't apply to all cultures. African men wore gold hoop earrings that signified wealth, status and power. You can be sweeter than kool aid without earrings..lol

okay, do i sense an underhanded putdown or what ?

personally,I'm not really for it for either sex.

why would it be wrong for a man to powder his nose, or wear a skirt ? there is a thing called gender distinction which has become so blurred no wonder the young folks are becoming increasingly confused.

I believe we can wear jewelry in moderation without mutilating our bodies (which are the temple of the HG) for the purpose of ornimentation.
cutting holes in the body(piercing) is technically considered a form of mutilation. how can we say it's okay to puncture the ears and not the lip, nose, brow, etc- where does it stop ?

Does that mean the God we serve approved of it because African kings wore them? They also worshipped pagan gods
