Tax Tip for those who had an HSA in 2006....
« on: March 06, 2007, 03:48:52 PM »
Man!  I'm a lil upset that my time has been wasted this afternoon!  >:(

I was online with H&R Block's Tax Cut website.  I was attempting to use their free tax prep service.  I got 73% done with the form, answering all of their questions, when I realized they DON'T SUPPORT FORM 8889, which is needed if you had a Health Savings Account last year.

So, a word to the wise.........you may "have people" using H&R Block, but H&R Block online services don't support Form 8889!  ::)

There! Feel better now!  :D

Man!! This is perfect!  Why did H&R Block email me a customer satisfaction survey asking me how was the service I received yesterday??  :D :D

I let them have it & let them know how "disappointed" (translated: pissed off) I was that a premier tax prep company has an online service that does not support a commonly-used tax form.  >:(  I also let them know that I prepared my taxes using Turbo Tax & that everything worked out just fine!  :D

They also asked me the best way to reach me (by phone) and ooooooo I hope they call me!   ;D

Remember, they basically just use a program like turbo tax and have everyday people use the program.  We use to use them but stopped when we realized that.

I think the Turbo Tax unliited licence version is only like $99 or something, might be a good business for someone who is patient.

"Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee" Turbo tax

Im using the business version because its supposed to be better at helping me compile my Schedule D report, which is for stock trades. The program doesnt recognize any stock purchase for more than 99,999 shares. So when I put in that I bought 100,000 shares of something, or one million shares of something else, I get errors saying, choose a smaller number. I need to put in exactly what I bought, not something smaller or larger.
