Hey, TheGiftedOne!  Did the person you were speaking with mention a particular hymnal that this is true about?  If so, could you please post that info, because that would be a Godsend...  TIA!!!

I don't know if 'church' hymn books has the letters listed above the chords, but a book of hymns may. You just have to look for it.

One titile, I believe, is "Then sings my soul".

In addition, if you know your chords, you could just write them in the hymnal, AS LONG AS IT'S YOUR HYMNAL!  ;)

No, but Lord willing, and if I live to see tomorrow, I might ask them about it.

Thanks, Jonathan...  I actually have a number of hymn "fake books."  I just wondered if there was, in fact, some kind of a hymn books with the chord symbols already written in.  You're right, though.  I could put them in myself.  But, I'm not terribly quick with that kind of thing.  I'm still very much a beginner.  That said, I can find my way around a fake book.  So, go figure.  ;D ;D ;D

Does anybody have "Modern Chord Changes to Favorite Hymns" as sold on showmethat.com?

I wonder what the 30 hymns are... ?/?  I'm puzzled as to why they don't even list a few of the hymns that are included.

This may not be applicable to everyone, but I always opt for the guitar edition of the book rather than the keyboard one. It has the melody and chords, and that's all I need. The piano edition are already arranged by someone else and often don't include the chord symbols so I have to read ahead and decode the chord, which I can't do if I'm singing. I'm a very improvisatory player anyway.
