What do you do when there is no unity?

I recently united with a church and was immediately put to work in the ministry.  What do you do when you have sisters or brothers in Christ complaining that you came and took over? or they say that they don't get to sing anymore since you came along.

Be humble and do what God has called you to do. Know that you will always have folks that did nothing before you and will be doing nothing if you stop. Remember that the Gentiles are now saved so that the Jews who did not receive Jesus will be moved by jealousy. So if they are complaining then God might be doing something. (lol)

I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.  Rom 11:11

As far as those who are not being utilized as much and seem to have a desire. I would try and share the space as God permits.

Thank you.... I will let nothing seperate me... Though I know that I should keep my eyes off of man, it is hard watching church members be pew members and complain when the harvest is so plentiful.  My theory is that if you are busy working in the House of God, then you wont have the time to complain.  I'm not trying to take on every open job in the church, I'm just trying to help in the up building of the Kingdom, I'm trying to work while it is day.  I will remain humble and listen for the voice of the Lord.  Again, thank you.

Soul...you have a good attitude.  HMMM....is this why God is using you?  HMMM...would He use others more if they stopped complaining?...HMMM

I'll be praying for you.  I have this situation too. I pray for the Lord to fix it because if you try it may make things worse. Be encourged, what ever you do know that God knows your heart and intension.

To me, this starts with the pastor and his authority over the praise team.
He needs to communicate to them that someone new is coming in and that they should dress themselves in a robe of humility and have a servant's heart, just as the leader should have and just as the pastor should have.

If it's not being modeled to them from the top then somebody ignored Jesus' command to do like He did:
John 13:14
"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet."

JUST PRAY. God called and chose you to do that work there in that ministry. Do what He commands you to do. People acting like that are in they flesh and they're not supposed to be. They need to realize that their flesh is tearing the church apart. the Bible says Judge not, lest ye be Judged. People need to know that they are a spirit living in a human body. and that their spiritual man is more important than the flesh. when there is no unity there is no strength. ask God for strength in your church.

Be humble and continue to do the work..  God sent you for a reason and if they want to abondon ship then their reason for being there might not have been pure.  Continue to seek the face of GOD.  Stand and after you've done all...........STAND some more! ;D  Something to remember: when light comes darkness has to leave! ;D

without unity the whole thing can fall apart If I were you I would get together with them and pray because we just had thahappen to us and the whole choir fell apart but after we orayed it all came back together the way God had intended it to be

Welcome soulfulsoulja.  I can tell by that name you don't mess around when it comes to church.  You came in asking for encouragement and I was encouraged by what you said.  I'm dealing with somewhat of a similar situation.  When you have that drive to work for the Lord, it can be very frustrating at times to see your fellow brothers and sisters drinking a bunch of Hatoraide before they come to church.  You see the BIG picture just as I do.  SAVING SOULS.  When I play, I play that someone is moved by the song.  When I teach and preach I do so so that someone might take a second look at their life and try to better themselves as children of God.  It goes back to what someone said earlier....DO YOU HAVE THE HOLYGHOST? 

In my situation I was worried about who will leave if I put them in their place.  I'm getting over that part very fast but at the same time I'm not out to destroy people's lives.  At this point in time it doesn't matter how they feel about me...it matters how I feel about them.  Jealousey is going to keep a lot of people out of heaven.  Just keep being righteouse no matter what they say because the Bible says the righteouse shall scarcely make it in.  Be encouraged ;)
