We fall down but we get up
We fall down but we get up
We fall down but we get up
FOR A SAINT IS JUST A SINNER WHO FELL DOWN AND GOT UP? ?/? ?/?

Hmm the scripture:

Pro 24:16  For a just [man]  not a sinner falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked (sinner continues to ) shall fall into mischief.

I don't know in the scripture where a saint and a sinner are the same person???

The song implies that the two are teh same if that is the case....... claim Jesus and hsi power and ability to save and deliver but still mess up......it's all part of the cycle???

i wuz just about to mention dat one.....

I was at a wedding once for one of my cousins and the bride to be walked down the isle while a soloist was singing Open My Heart by Yolanda Adams.   ?/? ?/? ?/?

...I feel so lost, cause I don't know what to do
Now what if I choose the wrong thing to do
I'm so afraid, afraid of disappointing you...

..,and ask you for your guidance
esp. today when my life is so cloudy...

I love the song, but if I were the groom, I would NOT want to hear that song on my wedding day, esp with lyrics like the ones above.

I dig that.

My former pastor didnt want the choir singin certain songs, just 'cause they "feel" good..

Example..."Long as i Got King Jesus, Don't need nobody else"

there's a scetion that sez "in dont need no doctor, lawyer, preacher, teacher"

Um hello? aint a teacher part of the five fold ministry?

That song is so wrong on every level---Long as I got King Jesus I don'ty need nobody else----So why did God create other people?

There was a thred on another site that had song suggestions. It had a seperate thread for Christmas songs, funeral songs, and a few others. Well, one person suggested "Rise Again" for a funeral song, I posted that it wouldn't be approriate for Easter in a noncombative way. Yet and still, this person comes at me and says the person didn't say whether or not for it to be approriate or not. My response, if they asked fo funeral songs, that would be implied, we have a thread for Christmas song, but you don't see anyone posting "Jesus Keep Me Near The Corss" as a Christmas suggestion because it's not appropriate for Christmas. Why sing a song about Jesus' crucifixtion for someone's funeral, nice song, but not right for that type of occassion.

We sing Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross at funerals.

" Til my raptured soul shall find, rest beyond the river."

To me this is specifically talking about being   with the Lord after dying.

Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour

Hear my humble cry  -      to me is a poetic way of saying hear my plea. ( I can cry out to the Lord in my heart, in my mind in my spirit, without moving my lips.)  So my vision is not somebody sitting on the side of the road hollering or begging to be heard.

While on others Thou art calling do not pass me by

I know that the Lord is a healer, a deliverer everything that you need.  I've seen the results of His blessings on others as well as what He's done for me.  So I'm saying while You're taking care of everyone else please remember me.  What's wrong with that?

Somebody posted a long time ago, I think it was bishop2, that an organist was playing "Glad to be in the Service" at a funeral.

... He didn't have to let me live...

Man! That still cracks me up!
Y'all ought to quit.  This song was ministering to those attending the funeral.  Everybody there should have been glad for one more opportunity to be in the Lord's House. He show didn't have to let us live, and if we sittin' up here witnessin' the homegoing of a soldier and  know we ain't right  then what a great opportunity the Lord has allowed us by giving us breath in our body  to renew!

"I'm so glad Jesus lifted me", "Rise and shine, Give God the glory", "Woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus" and "This is the day" are not appropiate funeral songs.

Tell me why, I went to my mothers church yeasterday and I was so mad when the messege was "There's No Place Like Home", and the choir sings "We Are Climbing Jacob's Ladder"   :o >:( ?/? ::) for the invitational song.  If I could have through something at the musicians and every one of them choir members I would have, cause that was so not appropriate!!
If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be!!!
