Behind door number 2:

IT'S BLUE STARS!!!  However, these blue stars don't do anything....they just look nice :D :D :D

LOL. Thank you SisterT and VT for the great gift.

Another thing I think where many of our opinions on topics such as these come from what donomination we are in.

That is true but the word is the same no matter which one  you are.

I'm glad the team had my back while I was away!  It looks like I'ma re-hijack, cuz I gotta tell y'all somethin'( By the way Sis T, you were smooth wit' yours!!)

So anyway, today is payday at work, right?  I went in two weeks ago to cancel my direct deposit because I changed banks and the account the money was going to had closed.  It took our office administrator forever to get my cancellation sent to Central Office because he was out of forms, and then he said he needed an actual deposit slip from my old account (the closed one).  Long story short, my check direct deposited to the closed account, and I CAN'T GET TO MY MONEY!!!

Keep in mind I wrote my rent check last night, assuming the funds would be there, and I have my nephew for another week, and need to get some food in the house to feed him, plus I need to rent a car next weekend to take him home.  Central Office told me that it probably takes like 10 days to get my money!!  Whew, I was sooo hot with everybody at this office!

Anyway, by the grace of God I covered my rent check, and I guess I'll just be poor 'til my check comes.  AAAARRRRRGGHHHHHHH!!!  It's a test of your salvation when these folks start playin' with your money!  Reminds me, I gotta call my hairdresser and see if she'll extend a little credit for tomorrow's appt., I'm a good client.

You should have called the "grammer wizard" to give her a 1 hour class. :D

*poof, The GW enters*

The class IS still possible. But, the beat-down was well deserved. Train up a child, folks; train up a child.  ;)

*poof, The GW exits*

Nessa, sorry about your money issues.

O.K., that's you opinion and you are entitled to it.  I'm sure there are people who agree and disagree with you.  But, like it was said, this topic has been discussed already, so u can do a search for it and get all the opinions you need.

By the way, I disargree with you 100%, one because not everyone can sing (or sing good), and two not everyone express themselves in the same way.  As long as they giving glory, honor, and praise to God, who are we to tell them or judge them on how to do it.  But, that's just me!!!

T-Block not trying to be mean, but the Bible tells us that he who worships the Lord must worship him in Spirit and in Truth, and I haven't never seen any gospel rapper in my whole life ever get in the Spirit by rapping. About the singing part, you don't have to sound good to sing unto the Lord. All you have to do is MAKE A JOYFULL NOISE UNTO THE LORD. But you are right everybody is indeed entitled to their own opinions.

...I think Rap is  a joke!.....a joke primarily played on Black people by black people!.....I know I am not alone on this......I saw a documentary last night on AIDs in the Black community and one person approached rap and hip hops roll in degrading the lifestyles of young black people.

I think it is like coming to church naked and asking ..."what is wrong with the human body?"

For the most part we follow what we see and let people into our lives that dont belong there....just to find out later that they have become part of our lives!

...We think we are making choices!....But we are not.....We are being offered....pg ....r....and ...x....as ratings and figure ...well pg is better than x rated so I'll get that!....at least it is not X!!!

....thats exactly what  THEY...want you to think!......

....So as the next generation comes....the young musicians bring this nonsense into the church....and  pastors and ministers in an effort to appease these young (already misguided) folks...says sure!...we will do it for the youngins!.....we have to keep them interested you know!

....MEMO TO THE CHIEF!.....THEY DONT NEED TO BE INTERESTED.....THEY NEED TO BE TAUGHT! HOW TO LIVE..TAUGHT THE WORD....AND FED THINGS THAT ARE THE OPPOSITE OF THE WORLDLY LIFE THEY ARE TRYING TO REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM!.....HELLOOOOOOOOO!....

I am exhausted.....Bobby Jones is the pope of Black Music...(joking)...did you see this guy?....think about it!...Why do we know his name?....Did you vote for him?.....

Rap in and out of the church is a joke!...and the joke is on us!....(and in this case ..unfortunately...by us!) ;D

whew....I feel better now!

I agree

Same goes for "Gospel Rock" with the white kids.

I disagree 100 percent

What makes FUNK gospel (Fred, Isreal, Mary Mary I could fill a post with  the list) any better that Hip Hop or Rock ?/?

I have played, produced and did sound and lighting for both gospel rap/rock.

I have seen 2000 teenagers 13-19 on fire for God is a bad thing because the music that is being playing under the lyrics " I LOVE JESUS" has a different beat/instruments.

Ok, I have a problem with your post on several levels, but I can't necessarily voice them coherently so I'll just go with the ones to which I can speak. And, they'll be in bold.

This first one is a parent's job; period! There's no if, ands or buts about it; it is the parent's duty to prepare their child(ren) to receive wise counsel and instuction from The Kingdom. If parents placed a greater emphasis on The Kingdom, then the youth wouldn't ask their pastor if they could bring in the mess of the world. Until that happens, it'll stay the way that it is now.

Dude, I have NO idea what you're talkig about with the ratings system for movies and television. One is better than the other; which is better than the other, etc. If I go to watch a movie like 'Spider-man' it's not going to be the same as watching say, 'Pulp Fiction' or watching any type of XXX-rated movie. There are different elements at each stage. That's like football is football whether or not it's college or pros. And, we all know that's just not true.

Rap, in and of itself, isn't a joke. At the core, it is musical poetry. Are you telling me that you don't like poetry? I didn't think so. I'm sure you've read Paul Lawrence Dunbar or Claude McKay, and even Langston Hughes (who based some of his poetry in a jazz-style flow); so don't sit there and act like Rap is the WORST thing ever created. If anything, it is an evolution that started with these gentlemen, that I mentioned, and countless others.

Are you calling them jokes?

I think that may be it for now. See ya Uriah, and BTW take a vacation, you're always so riled up all the time.  :D

If this ain't the silliest question, I've read on LGM in a long time, I don't know what is?  Well, maybe the question about Kirk Franklin revitalizing Gospel music, but this question sure is close. And, I 'ain't' is NOW in the dictionary, so there.

Well, I have seen it happen also.  The gospel rapper that we have at our church is very annointed by God, and he gives God the praise before, during, and after he delivers his rhymes.  I can (and I'm sure other church members can) feel the spirit with every lyric he delivers, so that disproves your little theory right there.  If you actually paid attention to some of the lyrics, you will see that they are rapping straight from the Bible and adding in their own personal experiences.

Dude, it seems like u got a very narrow-minded view of how we should praise God.  I'm glad God doesn't see it like that, or a lot of people would be lost!!!
