I personally believe that gospel rap is wrong, due to the fact that the bible plainly tells us to sing with an understanding. BUT I would like know what ya'll think about it.

ManofPraise,

Please note that we have discussed this numerous times on LGM and everytime it ends up in a heated debate and a locked thread. :)

Bro,

Boy this was just covered in too much detail a few weeks ago. If you search under " rap" a lot of information will come up.

Good luck!!! :)

Ya'll my daughter wrote an incomplete sentence in her homework. When I told her to do the work over, she RAISED HER VOICE at me. She was upset that I was making her do a better job and she had the nerve to THINK her work was sufficient.

So what do ya'll think I did

a) reached in the bag of belts and gave her a good old fashioned butt whoppin'
b) Took off my shoe and gave her a syllable beat down, using 4-5 syllables words which I encouraged her not to use on the paper
c) Calmly pleaded with her not to yell at me again.
d) a & b

Maybe you should have had a Grammar League tele-conference to Baltimore and sprinkled your fairy dust on her. I mean it would've been worth a try, before you went ALL corporal on the child.  ;D

O.K., that's you opinion and you are entitled to it.  I'm sure there are people who agree and disagree with you.  But, like it was said, this topic has been discussed already, so u can do a search for it and get all the opinions you need.

By the way, I disargree with you 100%, one because not everyone can sing (or sing good), and two not everyone express themselves in the same way.  As long as they giving glory, honor, and praise to God, who are we to tell them or judge them on how to do it.  But, that's just me!!!

...I think Rap is  a joke!.....a joke primarily played on Black people by black people!.....I know I am not alone on this......I saw a documentary last night on AIDs in the Black community and one person approached rap and hip hops roll in degrading the lifestyles of young black people.

I think it is like coming to church naked and asking ..."what is wrong with the human body?"

For the most part we follow what we see and let people into our lives that dont belong there....just to find out later that they have become part of our lives!

...We think we are making choices!....But we are not.....We are being offered....pg ....r....and ...x....as ratings and figure ...well pg is better than x rated so I'll get that!....at least it is not X!!!

....thats exactly what  THEY...want you to think!......

....So as the next generation comes....the young musicians bring this nonsense into the church....and  pastors and ministers in an effort to appease these young (already misguided) folks...says sure!...we will do it for the youngins!.....we have to keep them interested you know!

....MEMO TO THE CHIEF!.....THEY DONT NEED TO BE INTERESTED.....THEY NEED TO BE TAUGHT! HOW TO LIVE..TAUGHT THE WORD....AND FED THINGS THAT ARE THE OPPOSITE OF THE WORLDLY LIFE THEY ARE TRYING TO REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM!.....HELLOOOOOOOOO!....

I am exhausted.....Bobby Jones is the pope of Black Music...(joking)...did you see this guy?....think about it!...Why do we know his name?....Did you vote for him?.....

Rap in and out of the church is a joke!...and the joke is on us!....(and in this case ..unfortunately...by us!) ;D

whew....I feel better now!

Another thing I think where many of our opinions on topics such as these come from what donomination we are in.
