Scale Practice.
The secret to building tremendous speed to that run you've been working on isn't to practice that ONE run till you're blue in the face!
It's to practice your scales ad nauseum.
Not only that but.......
USE THE CORRECT FINGERING
It's vital. It's necessary. You'll NEVER be able to run your scales with any kind of speed or accuracy if you're fingerings vary every time you do them. Purchase a book that gives you the fingers for the scales, and practice them over and over and over and over.
If there's ANYTHING that Keyboardists and Organists don't like doing, it's practicing scales. But it's necessary. It's vital. If you want to do those blazing fast runs, you can't have weak fingers, and running scales is STILL the best way to build up finger strength.
Also, by learning your different scales, your fingers become comfortable with the keys and the different stretches and reaches your fingers will do when playing runs. If you build speed and accuracy in your Major, and Minor Scales (to start) you're well on your way to developing blazing runs.
Yea, scales can be a pain. But there's a payoff in the end!
