Can a singer sing for example alto and soprano equally well. If so do you have any examples?

Well, I can, but that is just because I have very good range. As for other people, it is a little harder just because of their tone. I'm sure altos can sing soprano, but they might not be able to reach the higher part of that voice all the time. Same for the other voices...except maybe a soprano to bass. That would just be freaky.

Lecresia Campbell can.  She is naturally an alto, but she can sing first soprano easily and she can hit notes that most soprano's can't.

Karen Clark Sheard who is naturally a soprano...she sounds just as good singing alto.

The lady who sings Order My Steps sings, soprano and she sounds excellent singing alto.

Lorraine Stancil, lead singer on the original "When We get Over There" by Hezekiah Walker, sings first soprano and sounds excellent singing alto, tenor, and bass.  Yes she can go as low as a bass and she sounds really good singing that low.

Wow, good examples.  I agree with Karen, I don't know the others too well.
