question regarding sounds for b3s and eps
« on: June 28, 2006, 02:46:39 PM »
So I want a digital piano with good piano feel and sounds. I been thinking kurzweil sp-8x or something. Well is it possible to get a card or some easy way of putting killer b3 and ep sounds onto this particular keyboard or pretty much any good keyboard. In fact, any good keyboard with good feel and piano sounds that I can expand that can be recommended is most appretciated. By the way, I already have the roland expansion card 'Keyboards of the 60' and 70's' but they are different brands so I dont know if they are compatible.

You can't expand the kurz sp-88x. I know cause I have one. The pianos on it are good and the organs aren't good. The ep's are quite good also.

Rolands expansions cards are only for roland.

If you want a good keyboard look at the motif-es. (I suggest you wait until summer namm for MAYBE a better keyboard than the motif-es.) The motif-es is expandable. You can add really good organs on it. Using k-sounds expansion boards. Also good pianos and ep's.

The fantom-x has excellent pianos and ep's and very good rhodes. I can't say a lot about the organs. They stink. The fantom-x is also expandable.

The triton series has good organs and ep's but not good pianos.(In my opinion). Some are expandable.

The nord keyboards I have heard have really good pianos and rhodes and organs. I am not sure if they are expandable though. Maybe they are. :)

There are some digital pianos that are expandable like the Yamaha s90-es and the Roland rd-700sx. Both of this boards are really good. :)

I will go as far as checking out sounds modules that has the abliity to expand insteading of spending more for another board and just use the Kurzweil as the controller (They are great controllers by the way). (Motif rack, Triton rack, Fantom rack...etc)
MERCY EN!!
