That song just does something to me.  Sorry, I just had to share.

Has anyone done this song with their choir?  I think I might bring it to our M.O.M.

I agree...this is a powerful song, one of the very few songs that I cried to just listening to it for the first time.

I cried when I first heard it, too!  It's like with all the stuff that was going on in my life at the time, it reminded me of what was important.

Yes, I feel you. I was at the time in my life when I needed to be more closer to Him. I heard this song and it was like one of the sermons you hear that says everything that you're feeling or have been through. Then you're thinking, wait, how did you know that's how I'm feeling or need to hear.

Are ya'll talking 'bout the one that says:

I want to be
Close to you
I want to be just where you are
In that secret place.....
There's no place I'd rather be than close to you

anybody got the chords to it?

No, this one (lyrics taken from http://www.blackgospellyricministry.org)

Closer
(written by Lamar Campbell)
(recorded by Lamar Campbell & Spirit of Praise)

Verse 1:
Oh Lord, I felt Your presence
when I opened my eyes this morning;
I remembered how we started the day together,
somehow we drifted apart.
I need to feel Your presence all through the day,
sometimes I get weak and I want to stray.

Chorus:
So I start all over again,
please Lord give me another chance;
today I want to be closer to You,
than I've ever been before.

Verse 2
Oh, Lord it's my desire
just to please You in all that I do;
Lord I want to walk just like You,
I want to talk just like You,
I want to live holy just like You tell me to.
There are times I must admit
I fall a little short of Your word,
that's when I come running and crying,
"Lord, help me just to make it through".

Chorus

Vamp
I want to be closer to You.

Ending
Today, I want to be closer to You,
than I've ever been before.
(repeat as desired)
