Musicians with the spirit of pride an jealousy
« on: June 16, 2006, 08:17:32 PM »
Why is it that some of the musicians have the spirit of pride an jealousy. There always gonig to be somebody better than you, but you can make your self rise above in a godly way. Think about it this way, there's only so much you can learn about the keyboard. Why not share it with somebody that wants to learn. I mean you can't take a keyboard to the grave. An 9 times out of 10 they are not going to remeber you for the piano. they going to rember you for who you are. I mean come on. An half of the time people think that  they don't have the spirit to hell bust it open in there face.

Please answer these 3 questions?
1. When the last time you got jeaslousy because somebody play better than you?
2. have you ever thought that if it wa not for you that church wouldn't go on?
3. When the last time you posted chords to LGM?( without being funny about )

Rut, I think that if you want someone to answer these questions you should answer them first
I am still going to give you an answer though. Thanks for giving us something to think about.

1) In March actually. All of the churches from the ministry got together and this guy that I grew up with when we were kids was playing a Kurz pc88 and he had his Korg triton 76-note on top. He has been playing longer than me so that his why I understand that he is always a step ahead of me. He also has the other key-players from his church, so I guess they teach him stuff. Well he plays really good, he sometimes plays both keyboards, one has piano and the other keyboard has like Ep's or organ. I really admire him for that. We are also the same age, I think. Well after seeing him play I got home and I was motivated to practice even more. I guess that is a good thing to sometimes get jealous, when you use it to do good, not evil. I don't hate him or anything, I still talk to him and look over his shoulder when his playing ;). I always learn something new from him. God bless him and his family.

2)Nah never. Everytime I'm not there the other key-player plays. So it's no big deal. The trumpet player also plays keys, so does the guitar player. They are like my back up ;D. The next service I am there, they tell that where was I and that they missed me.(the musicians ask not the churchy people.) When I get there late, they are playing fine. So it is no big deal.

3) The last time was when someone wanted chords for this song that I forgot about right now. Other than that I learn from the people here. :D   :)

Maybe some years ago.  I don't really get jealous, I just say they got a different style of playing than me.

I had that thought a couple of times, but then I realized that God's church WILL go on with or without you.

About 1 or 2 weeks ago.  It's true that we should share chords and stuff with each other, but we are supposed to be teaching and learning as well.  I am not chording out songs too much right now cuz we need to get back to focusing on learning.  That's not being funny or anything, that's just being real.
