What Song took you the longest to grasp or took the most effort to learn.

For me it would've had to be Manifest by Jonothan Nelson…but I learned the T.D. Jakes version because of better sound mixing. But it took me about 2 and a half hours

I mean like two grueling hours lol, if you think about it that is a lot of time. What the problem was is that since it's in like F# minor or A major depending on how you look at it, I had to apply what I would normally play if it was in F minor and just take it up. When I figured out what chords fit and started thinking in F# minor it was a breeze because I've had a lot of theory. And it was pure Kevin Bond chords a lot of chromatic chord moving down or sometimes whole-tone at the end. A lot of open spaced chords. Runs that are based on a minor chord, but He'll run the minor chord up with the right hand while placing a note that doesn't fit in that chord with his left in the middle to throw off the sound to make it sound more full and a more interesting run. It was fun though, I have to clarify I didn't just sit down in one setting per se, I listened to it for a long time, I talked to my piano teacher about it and that's how I was able to under the whole think F minor because I was comfortable but play everything a half-step up. And after going home and working for like 2 hours on it, I had it. It's a weird or different sounding song, but the chords are common in other keys. And I wish I had perfect pitch…I work on it everyday…..

Isn't that song a scale  going backwards and a walk when you get to the 2 chord

Diverse,  how do you play that with two chords?  Were you speaking tongue in cheek?  If not, I would really like to know how you do that.

The hardest song for me to learn and understand was "Thank You For Your Grace" by Bishop Eddie Long.  It took me a few hours, but I got it down and was able to play it other keys as well once I understood it.  But ulitimately, if you added up the total time in hours it takes to learn songs, you are not really spending that much time learning songs.  I mean, how many actually practice a song for 24 straight hours?  Nobody!!!

The only RH chords you really need to play "No Weapon" by Fred Hammond are 1, 4 and 5.  The only difference is what bass notes you play each chord on.  This song is really simple to learn so it is great for beginners to learn.  Here is a basic version:

Key Eb  LH/RH

1 chord = Eb-G-Bb (Eb major)
4 chord = Ab-C-Eb (Ab major)
5 chord = Bb-D-F (Bb major)

No
Eb / G-Bb-Eb weapon, *1 chord in RH
D / F-Bb-D formed a- *5 chord in RH
C / G-Bb-Eb gainst me, *1 chord in RH
Bb / F-Bb-Db *1 chord in RH
shall
Ab / Ab-C-Eb prosper, *4 chord in RH
G / F-Bb-D no *5 chord in RH
F / Eb-Ab-C it won't work. *4 chord in RH
Bb / F-Bb-Db *5 chord in RH
C / Eb-Ab-C Said *4 chord in RH
D / F-Bb-D no, *5 chord in RH
(repeat)

You see that?  I only used 1, 4, and 5 in my RH.  To make it a little more advanced, you can add in the 6 chord, then you will be able to do the little walk back to 1.  Here it is:

Key Eb  LH/RH

1 chord = Eb-G-Bb (Eb major)
4 chord = Ab-C-Eb (Ab major)
5 chord = Bb-D-F (Bb major)
6 chord = C-Eb-G (C minor)

No
Eb / G-Bb-Eb weapon, *1 chord in RH
D / F-Bb-D formed a- *5 chord in RH
C / G-Bb-Eb gainst me, *1 chord in RH
Bb / F-Bb-Db *1 chord in RH
shall
Ab / G-C-Eb prosper, *6 chord in RH
G / F-Bb-D no *5 chord in RH
F / Eb-Ab-C it *4 chord in RH
G / F-Bb-D won't *5 chord in RH
Ab / G-C-Eb work. *6 chord in RH
Bb / F-Bb-Db *5 chord in RH
C / Eb-Ab-C Said *4 chord in RH
D / F-Bb-D no, *5 chord in RH
(repeat)

You see that?  Now it should sound more like the CD.  I'll have to chord out the entire song at another time.

if you have a bass player you can play the melody with your right hand other wise this works but there will be no melody

or on organ i play the bass with my foot and the chords with my left hand then i can concentrate on melody
Db/ Ab Db F Ab
C/ Ab C Eb Ab
Bb/ Ab Db F Ab
Ab/ Ab C Eb Ab
F#/ Ab Db F Ab
Bb/ Ab C Eb Ab
Eb/ Ab Db F Ab
Ab / Ab C Eb Ab

then repeat for the chorus but go all the way down to the Eb via Gb F Eb instead of going to Bb Eb

simpl;e two chords but they change qualities based on the Bass note

Man I'm gonna go try that in a few minutes, as soon as I get off the computer. I'll play that at church next Sunday if I can get it together, and it seems that I could looking at the information provided.  Funny how songs that appear to be so difficult to play can turn out to be simple if you just know the chords and tackle the song. Thanks for the help diverse and T-block.
