This probaly isnt the answer you wanna hear, but I suggest that you work on you fingering, and timing.
Knowing the correct fingering will help you execute the phrase with a lot less effort.
When doing runs, timing is critical. You have to land on the right note at the right time. Sometimes you might not give yourself enough time to finish a run, so you may have to skip a note or two in order to land at the right time. I'd rather do that than land on the note. I find that many times the run is simply a major scale, but the player skips back on some notes before he continues going down. When adlibing and soloing what you can do is just play chords with you left hand, and play "random" notes in your right, as long as they are the same notes that are in the left hand chord it might just sound good
