Idk U13, when I found out that they had a side salad for $1, I started ordering one every time I go there. My rule is that the only way I can eat a dessert is if I have a salad and my beverage is water.

I think if the prices were the same, people who are health conscious or trying to be might consider getting a regular salad and maybe a cheeseburger instead of a #1 or qpwc meal.

Idk I could be wrong.

I didnt know that people who were health conscious ate anything at Mcdonalds. But I could be wrong.

 I heard that even the salads there arent that good for you, and once again you'd be better off making it yourself....thats just what I read... Also of course the dressing is gonna have a lot calories, I dont know if they offer fat free dressing or not.

Anyway, I dont do salads....yuck

I'm not a health nut by any means, but I'm becoming more and more health conscious (aware) every day. I eat there. I know some health or weight conscious people who eat chicken there and take the bread off.

And yeah, they have fat-free dressing. Or maybe it's low calorie? I don't remember, but it's the Paul Newman Italian dressing, which is the one I always get (not calorie conscious, but I don't like white dressing).

You can have grilled chicken with a side salad and a bottle of water, and some apples for dessert.

Or one of several entree salads with a Yogurt Parfait for dessert.

The kids' meals have a few options, too.

It's no Vegan Restaurant, but it has a few choices for people who are trying to eat better, but still need convenience. I mean, it's a hamburger fast food joint. It has been a hamburger fast food joint since its very beginning. I'm not trying to make it out to be the Whole Foods Dining Experience. I'm just saying there are options for people who are health conscious, and many people know that - which is why the salads, milk, juice, apples, oatmeal, and parfait are still on the menu.

OMG I just found out that they are closing the McDonald's in my hometown for the next 3 months in order to remodel. WHAT IN THE WORLD!?!?!?!?!?!

I doubt it's 3 months. They just remodeled the one by me and it was closed for one week.

It's very nice, though. All new everything, floors, walls, decor, tables, design, layout, counters, bathrooms, doors, windows, landscaping... And it has wifi, which I love. They even replaced the playground area with tables for grown-ups.

It has a very mature look. Fresh flowers on each table, too.

Spoke too soon. I just remembered the last time I went home, I learned they had opened a new McD's near my old middle school, so now there are two (assuming the other one is still open).

But the town I live in now does have only one McD's.

My hometown is only 4 square miles, it's in Westchester County, which borders NYC. All the years I lived there, there was only one McD's. I don't think we even had a BK... I don't remember ever seeing one.

My current town is *heads to Wikipedia to see how big it is* 13.7 sq miles. I'm not sure why we only have one McD's, but it's a very Jewish town, so maybe there's not much of a demand from the Jewish community?? I really don't know.

FWIW, Selma only has one McDonalds too. It's 14.5 sq miles. *shrug*
