traditional music help.
« on: March 16, 2006, 07:54:45 PM »
I was wondering what could i do to sound a little more traditional as far as organ playing?  my chord structure is so terrible for gospel because I've been playing mostly classical and popular music most of my life.  the problem is not reading I'm just looking for that true down home gospel sound.  is anyone willing to help a poor chicago musician?  its a shame that I grew up in chicago and i dont have that gospel sound.

Welcome syass1127  to Learngospelmusic.com.  As far as traditionaly gospel, if you use simple triads, you should be able to get the traditional gospel sound.   If you are able to also get that running (walking) bass line affect with it.

How's it going?  I'm in Chicago as well and I would be glad to help.  Email me at mbastudent2005@hotmail.com so that I can give you my number.  It'll be easier to explain and demonstrate over the phone.
