Legacy cymbal review.... I played the Legacys today!
« on: March 10, 2006, 06:02:40 PM »
Drums 2 Go has gotten n the 14" hats, 10" splash, 12" splash,  16" crash, 18" crash.

They are hot! Think Steve Gadd Session Custom Crashes and K Custom Dark with a Bospherous and Wuhan edge... smooth yet dry and dirty .

The hats sound like HHX Groove Hats meet HHX Manhattan Jazz.

The 18" crash and the 12" splash are a must. THis 12" splash is 3-4 times better than the Evo one (which I own a 10"). Waiting on the Ozone Ride etc.

I didn't look at the prices on everything but the hats are $329.99.

Man, and I was at my shop yesterday and didnt even bother to ask!! what an idiot. I did see a really nice Vault Ride....I really liked it. I was picking up a Genera Head and a Glass 500...per your suggestions. I will let you know how that works for me. I also picked up a Protection Racket cymbal bag...and the manager gave me Protection Rackets Deluxe stick bag for free...So I was happy.

Sabe, can you give me a good feel or suggestion on a ride. I love my A Custom Flat...Legacy Ozone?

God Bless.

I have an Prototype AAX flat 20"(thank God for lay-a-way,  :)). The Ed Thigpin Crystal flat is hot, try getting it in a 22". The AAX Stage is the truth 20" or 22". the 21" is a lil quirky in my opinion. Legacy Ozone will make you stand out but if you cannot jazz play rides you might not want it. It will be something to control. I haven't heard i tyet but I think it will be somewhat like the Fierce ride with a bit of control because of the holes.

Yeah the Ozone splashes are hot. I first checked them a year ago from the AA prototypes. They sound better as AAXs I must say. Combine those with the Legacys and you are gonna hurt somebody.

Are all of the abov mentioned flat? I just picked up the Sabian Sound Catalog, I like the way the HHX Manhattan and HHX Groove Ride look. Also the Tri-top ride?

Forgive me if this is wrong and please correct me if I should think differently. But I am not just going for a cymbals sound. I want a jaw dropping eye catching cymbal too!  :o :o :o Something that looks unique that not everybody has. Like for example, I saw some Meinl Byzance Dark finish cymbals, awww man, to me they were beautiful. Bronze with nice dark black hammer marks all over. I want something other than just the standard bronze looking blaaah cymbal.

God Bless.

Man E.R. coming over here. Notice that S in sabian comes before the Z in zildjian so that means Sabian comes first before any of the 2 cymbal companies.
