Hi Sista Drumma! I am a female musician and I have been playing for a couple of years. I started playing the Sax. when I was in high school. I      gradually moved to playing the drums which l enjoy doing; however, my love is the board (keyboard). It's been really hard trying to train my left and right hands to work together. I know a lot of people who play mostly guys though but there not trying to help a sista out. (you know what I mean? Any way I would love to hear back from you. hit me back at lakeishametrell@yahoo.com

i play drums, i'm 18(19 in a couple of wks!!) i have done so since i was 10.
I play regular in my local church and have played at district youth and national conventions for ladies retreat. i just wana stay in a position for God to keep using me to be an example for other females and carry out his will for my life, and this is what i believe he has called me for, through my playing people will be blessed and souls will be saved. he's doing great things in my life but its important to seek his face more than the gifts and blessings from his hand.... because all this is for him and to exalt him, we are just his vessels!!
Blessings.

Betann I guess you have more experience then any of us.  Well I'm from Saginaw Mich. and I'm 21 years old.  I've been playing the piano for 13 years now and lovin every bit of it.  You females out there.  Keep playing you're instruments and keep practicing.  I see a lot of male musicians being exposed and hardly ever see any female musicians, but ladies we're going to be out there one day, just do the will of the Lord and let Him direct you.

Hi everyone!!! I am from philly. I am a singer who loves to do praise and worship but I am also passionate about learning and perfecting the keyboard. I can only read music a little...however I can play by ear. This site has been helpful in giving me the chords that I need to the songs that I love. It is my desire to be able to play praise and worship, shouting music and to push the preacher smoothly. If anyone out there knows any chords or suggestions for playing in the left hand or can simplify things for me, i'd really appreciate it. thanx.

Wow again. Id love to here you open up in a midi or mp3 file. My college instructor has about the same amount of experience. When he sits down and plays its like being in the front row of a $90 concert.  When he's done everyones like   8O  8O  8O  8O  8O  8O  8O  8O

I always tell up and coming players that to hear accomplished musician not only humbles you, but makes you grow as a musician.

Yeah I guess I know what y'all are talking about....I play the drums a little now, but it took me a while to get up my nerve because I'm a female (ya know how that goes) And I'm playing the keyboard now and it's cool.

It seems like when I was little ...like 4, I saw my mom on the organ and my aunt, so it was like playing the organ was a femine thing and I thought it was strange when this man would play...but then when I was like 10 it was not that it was quite a masculine thing, but that it was equal.

But right now, it's like it's totally masculine...the cockpit of musicians at the conventions be like nothing but guys...but I'm still gone represent, cause it's what I do......Holler Shaba Glory
