Help please....
« on: October 31, 2005, 09:52:19 PM »
I am the music director of a small church with an even smaller praise team (3 members: 2 altos and a soprano). Its hard coming up with new songs for us to learn, but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on song that we could learn that wouldn't make us sound like a small group trying to sing choir songs.
Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

Find ensemble songs, or soloists songs. For example, Isreal & New Breed; Troy Sneed (wonderful CD). Worship songs are really good for small groups like yours.

As for praise songs, do the usual old school praise songs, just have your musician use contemporary chords. Songs like, this is the day, etc.

Thank you so much. I'll look for that CD. We sing a lot of Israel and New Breed some Joe Pace and a few other solo projects. I pretty much try to stick with what's real simple.
